Consensus Planning for Dispersant Use

The benefits of training with EM&A include:

  • A relaxed training environment
  • Small class sizes (4-10 students)
  • Customized curriculum
  • Cost-competitive courses
  • Discounts for multiple staff members
  • Courses can be combined into a full-week program
  • We can offer the course at your facility (minimum student enrollment applies)

Our classroom is conveniently located adjacent to Solomons Island, Maryland, a quiet waterfront fishing village located just one hour south of the Washington beltway where the Patuxent River meets the Chesapeake Bay.

All courses are taught by Dr. Don Aurand and Dr. Gina Coelho, Principals in EM&A. Together, they have over 50 years of experience related to the effects of oil spills on the marine and coastal environment, and in planning and response operations. Their experience includes both national and international projects for a wide range of clients. Most recently, they have been focused on laboratory studies of oil and dispersed oil toxicity, consensus ecological risk assessment in support of oil spill planning, and guidelines for evaluation of oil spill response plans.
